We are diamonds in the rough Breathing life into dust Falling weightless we’re lost With full and hungry hearts All this time, turns on a road Children reaching out for hope Going where the wind blows To make this circle roll So, it goes round and round ‘til I am dazed Turning me upside down in the maze Caught in the lost and found of a permanent haze But one of these days… I’m ever thankful for your love I need to feel more of us Never sure I’m what you need Help me solve the mystery So, it goes round and round ‘til I am dazed Turning me upside down in the maze Caught in the lost and found of a permanent haze But one of these days… I got to Let it rock and let it roll All the way around the world Make it last then push it past All the way around the world ‘Til my heart explodes or our worlds collide A kaleidoscope of a thousand lights Let it rock and let it roll All the way around the world Make it last then push it past All the way around the world

She’s more than the girl next door Einstein smart in a mini skirt She likes her tat’s & pawnshop pearls But she loves Tolstoy’s words She’s got a job down at Bar Raval Where all the in-crowd come in from the park She closes up at half past four Walks the cobblestone streets from before the war Don’t like to flirt, she likes to dance Speaking perfect English I know her by the name Berlin I think the boys they are all afraid The girls try but it’s not her thing She’s caught between aloof and estranged Oh, she’s seen better days I watch her smile through the window If I were brave I would let her know I turn away when she looks outside I could sure use a friend tonight Don’t like to flirt, she likes to dance Speaking perfect English I know her by the name Berlin This city’s full of refugees Pouring in the worlds debris We may seem a little lost in our bar down at the cross It’s where we feel free We will drink ‘til the morning comes It’s how we celebrate the dawn I’m just standing as a stone for Berlin to come alone A man can dream … Berlin Don’t like to flirt, she likes to dance Speaking perfect English I know her by the name Berlin

When my heart is sad and lonely I reach for you When I’m mad or frustrated I reach for you To make everything right Take away my blues, turn them whites All I need to do is reach for you I need you, I need you When it’s seems like an eternity And I have wandered too far The sun’s setting low or I’m alone in the world Or my tears won’t dry You make everything right Take away my blues, turn them whites All I need to do is reach for you I need you, I need you When my heart is sad and lonely I reach for you To make everything right Take away my blues, turn them whites All I need to do is reach for you To make everything right Take away my blues, turn them whites All I need to do is reach for you I need you, I need you, I need you

I could tell you I love you And it would not be a lie I could give to you hope Though I know it isn’t right You’re everyone I could hope for Even right down to the dream It’s not about skin & bone No, that’s not my fantasy And it haunts me to the core These things I feel inside While my heart burns for more Don’t belong out in the light I told you I was broken I remember how we laughed So new where we went I never dreamed it could last And it haunts me to the core These things I feel inside While my heart burns for more Don’t belong out in the light Every time I try to speak My confessions over drive And I’m not who I appear Don’t belong out in the light
5.
You’ve been living in the shadows Of the man you want to be You’ve been hoping for a change The kind to set you free It’s about time to decide It’s about time to put on your wings and fly ‘Cause one day you’re gonna wake, when everything’s passed you by Right now shake it out and float like a butterfly Then one day, you’ll say “ain’t nothing’s passed me by” Heart to hand, like Superman, I gave it my best try To fly, to fly You’ve been standing still so long The weeds have overgrown I think you lost the will to live Your friends have all gone You used to soar among the stars Now you just complain to the people at the bar One day you’re gonna wake, when everything’s passed you by Right now shake it out and float like a butterfly Then one day, you’ll say “ain’t nothing’s passed me by” Heart to hand, like Superman, I gave it my best try To fly, to fly I know it’s easier said than done Sometimes I’m scared, lost or alone Never try to be more than who you truly are For life is a lark, gave us wings to fly ‘Cause one day you’re gonna wake, when everything’s passed you by Right now shake it out and float like a butterfly Then one day, you’ll say “ain’t nothing’s passed me by” Heart to hand, like Superman, I gave it my best try To fly, to fly

Never said the words to you The holy ones, the sacred ones we hold on to They seem elusive as the stars And every chance I have I let them slip right through Yesterday you opened wide You showed your brilliant colors for me to see And in return I must confess You shake me out of my unrest out of this deep freeze I remember how we’d fly Under stars touching the sky Just then we knew time would stop Under this fragile moon If lightning strikes you once you’re lucky If it strikes you twice you feel the mercy Rare are those who come before The angels wanting something more Ain’t nothing more, more I remember how we’d fly Under stars touching the sky Just then we knew time would stop Under this fragile moon How we held on tight Every ounce of strength lost that night Like wild horses & all their might Pulling us from the dark to the light I remember how we’d fly Under stars touching the sky Just then we knew time would stop Under this fragile moon Never said the words to you The holy ones, the sacred ones we hold on to

I walk this road with a beat up soul But a smile that reaches out hello Sometimes I feel like such a mess I’m a restless man and I seek a way For in my heart I am questioning The why, the where, tomorrows bring So I walk up that hill ‘til the sun goes down I’m waiting to dig this hole in the ground I clench my teeth so I cannot speak I hold it in ‘til I want to scream So now I wait with a heart so full There are angels, sons and miracles I’m counting down the days ‘til you appear For each step forward it’s two steps back I will not hold this levee back The flood that comes will wash us all free So I walk up that hill ‘til the sun goes down I’m waiting to dig this hole in the ground I clench my teeth so I cannot speak I hold it in ‘til I want to scream I want to scream, I want to scream I want to scream, I want to scream I’m the first to say I’m in your hands Your perfect embrace, I’m at your command My hope is eternal my faith is endless I’m the last to leave when the party ends So I walk up that hill ‘til the sun goes down I’m waiting to dig this hole in the ground I clench my teeth so I cannot speak I hold it in… So I walk up that hill ‘til the sun goes down I’m waiting to dig this hole in the ground I clench my teeth so I cannot speak I hold it in ‘til I want to scream I want to scream, I want to scream I want to scream, I want to scream I want to scream, I want to scream I want to scream, I want to scream

Standing on the edge of a dream Standing on the ledge looking deep Can’t be sure what it is Looking deep to the abyss Looking down, looking down Looking down to the abyss Floating on a road without an end Do I even need an end Days of rain rain rain bring a flood a flood a flood Lift me high high high, high above above above Looking down, looking down Looking down to the abyss Floating on a road without an end Do I even need an end For days of rain rain rain bring a flood a flood a flood Lift me high high high, high above above above Looking down, looking down Looking down to the abyss
9.
In the days up ahead there’ll be brows of sweat There’ll be heartbreaks, soul shakes, heed what I say You will never steal a man from his faith In the past there was white, hopeless yet bright Forged wings, bounty, baying at the night You will never sight a man once blind Gone away, lonely way Gone away, blown away In the days up ahead there’ll be bended knees We’ll know hearts deep, Gods weeping into seas Will we ever know the joy of peace? Gone away, lonely way Gone away, blown away Gone away, lonely way Gone away, blown away Blown away In the days up ahead there’ll be brows of sweat There’ll be heartbreaks, soul shakes, heed what I say You will never steal a man from his faith

I didn’t cry uncle, I didn’t cry son The man I am is a stubborn one I wouldn’t kneel down at my fathers throne There won’t be nothing left when I get home What it is is what it is Ain’t nothing wrong with a little bliss What it is is what it is Ain’t nothing wrong with a little bliss Laid it down, I’ve been here before I’ve done enough junk to know the score It’s how you fall, saint or whore That tells it all when you hit the floor What it is is what it is Ain’t nothing wrong with a little bliss What it is is what it is Ain’t nothing wrong with a little bliss Endless time, wrong or right Lift your hands up to the sky Drink your wine, spill your pride Ain’t nothing left at the end of the ride I didn’t cry uncle, I didn’t cry son The man I am is a stubborn one I wouldn’t kneel down at my fathers throne There won’t be nothing left when I get home What it is is what it is Ain’t nothing wrong with a little bliss What it is is what it is Ain’t nothing wrong with a little bliss

Everyday it’s getting later, sun setting down on me Everyplace I’m running to gets further out of reach There’s a soul in this lonely mans heart, hope for the late redeemer Searching for blind salvation, saints out of disbelievers Still I know there’s a way to reach the Promised Land Don’t take a miracle to hold it in your hand I tried looking in the mirror, tried shooting up a storm Lied every single morning ‘til nobody was left at home For some praying is the answer, for the lost it’s never too late Holding out or living without love is a fatal mistake Still I know there’s a way to reach the Promised Land Don’t take a miracle to hold it in your hand We were there alone in a boat on the waves Far from the barriers we were lost and unsafe We had fled our homes from the war against There is no room for hope in this shadow land Pick up the shattered pieces, guard them with your life Forgiveness comes with every sun, desire a tempest of the night Some say that need is a drug, it’s laid bare at your feet Hold your heart, it’s a child in the dark or spend your life on your knees Still I know there’s a way to reach the Promised Land Don’t take a miracle to hold it in your hand Still I know there’s a way to reach the Promised Land Don’t take a miracle to hold it in your hand
12.
I can take the weight of the night I can live on hollow hope I can even bare it blind But you, you leave a hole I can’t explain, a deep deep hole Where’s the wonder of it now Was a time when we were whole Now we’re living time unbound But you, you leave a hole I can’t explain, a deep deep hole Barren in the Fall There’s no life at all For you who brings the sun Bring it to the horizon

The Field
Sometimes I need a path through a sun drenched field. One that feels good on my skin, my heart, my soul. A way that reflects hope or light, that gives me sense of peace in an unpredictable future. That shines.

The Forest
And then there are times when I need adventure. That amplifies my senses, where I touch the edge, a pounding drum in the distance, anticipation of what lurks beyond tree or turn. A path rich with risk of discovery.
